The castle of the counts is to our regret not accessible to users of a wheelchair. The Castle has more than 480 steps which mostly belong to our four narrow spiralstairs that connect the different levels. The museums, rooms and cellars open to our visitors, are unfortunately all in depth or height, and not on ground level.

As you drive into the city, you will see information about parking options early on. Large overview signs will guide you to the R40 ring road, where you can find your way by following the dedicated parking signs. These will show you the direction and occupancy rate of the various underground parking lots. From any one of those lots, simply follow the touristic signs pointing towards the Gravensteen.
Bus parking is available at the Dampoort and the Bijlokekaai.
